BRACKETS OUT: DENNEHY AND WANG ON A COLLISION COURSE IN BEIJING

PPA Tour Asia is about to touch down in Beijing, and the Chinese capital is ready for a showpiece. The Capital Securities Beijing Open 2026 is set to be staged from June 17-21, with five golds on the line and a draw that already has its headline acts sorted.
Two players tower over the women’s field, and the seedings spell it out. Chao Yi Wang is the top seed in all three events this week: first in Women’s Singles, first in Women’s Doubles, first in Mixed Doubles. Meanwhile Sahra Dennehy answers at #2 in every one of them. Wherever the pair line up in Beijing, the order reads the same. Wang, then Dennehy, then the rest. Triple crowns are in reach for both of them, but they will be each other’s biggest competition to complete the feat.
The history is fresh, too. The last time the tour landed in mainland China was last December. There Dennehy defeated Wang 11-7, 11-2 to win the Women’s Singles title at the Vibrant Linping Hangzhou Open. It was the second of back-to-back golds that closed out her 2025 and a mark of dominance. In Beijing the draw keeps them apart until the final, so on the projected lines a rematch lands on Championship Sunday.

But there is serious company in between. Yufei Long won four Women’s Singles golds in 2025, more than any other woman on tour, yet the Chinese star carries just a solitary singles bronze into Beijing from the 2026 season so far. Home soil is a chance to rediscover that form. Lingwei Kong keeps her own rise going, from a Macao debut just weeks ago to a home event in Beijing, seeded top 5 across all events. A projected semifinal puts Wang against Long in the top half, with Dennehy and Kong set to collide in the other.

Meanwhile that Men’s Singles bracket has a new face at the top. Zane Ford makes his PPA Tour Asia debut. He is the No.10 player in the PPA Rankings, the top seed in Beijing, and the man others will have to beat. He comes in hot, having claimed singles bronze at the PPA Finals 500 in the United States last month.
One question will be can Ford outgun Vietnamese star Hien Truong. Truong has been one of the in form men of the season and anything but an appearance in the final will be falling short of expectations. The #2 seed won in Kuala Lumpur in May and became the first player to hold two pieces of the dragon medal set.
In Men’s Doubles the running story stays alive. Hong Kit Wong and Eunggwon Kim arrive as the #1 seeds, and few pairings know the podium better. Together they own five medals, one silver and four bronze. But not one of them gold. Beijing is their next shot at the breakthrough and put an end to the streak.
