DOUBLE TRIPLE CROWN WATCH FOR SHENZHEN SEMIFINALS

Two players will wake up on semifinal Saturday at the Skechers Shenzhen Open 2026 still alive in all three of their events, and a triple crown in reach.
Tama Shimabukuro is one of them. The 15-year-old has powered into the Men’s Singles semifinals, the Men’s Doubles semifinals alongside Joseph Wild, and the Mixed Doubles semifinals with Sahra Dennehy. Three events, three last-four appearances, and a shot at a clean sweep of the weekend.
Yu-Chieh Hsieh is the other. The Chinese Taipei star is into the Women’s Singles semifinals, the Women’s Doubles semifinals with Albie Huang, and the Mixed Doubles semifinals with Luc Pham. Like Shimabukuro, she has kept every door open, and she carries extra motivation into the singles. Hsieh lost two Women’s Singles finals in 2025 without landing gold. This is her chance to finally break through.
But there is a twist. The two meet head-on in the Mixed Doubles semifinal, Hsieh and Pham against Dennehy and Shimabukuro. One triple crown bid loses a life right there.

Meanwhile, some big names fell short in Friday’s matches.
Adam Harvey ended 2026’s three-time champion Hong Kit Wong’s Men’s Singles bid in the quarterfinals, winning 11-3, 11-8. Top seed Roscoe Bellamy was gone even earlier, beaten 11-7, 11-6 by Luc Pham in the round of 16 to bring an abrupt end to his first Asia campaign. Harvey now meets Hien Truong in one semifinal, while Shimabukuro takes on Grayson Goldin in the other.
There was also to be no hometown fairytale for Yufei Long. The Shenzhen local was beaten in both her events on the same day, falling in the Women’s Singles round of 16 and then the Women’s Doubles quarterfinal alongside Chao Yi Wang. Hsieh was the common thread, knocking Long out of the singles and combining with Huang to end her doubles.
Wang lives to fight on in the Women’s Singles, where she meets Hsieh. The other semifinal pits reigning Tokyo champion Rika Fujiwara against Sahra Dennehy, a multiple Women’s Singles gold medalist in 2025. Four genuine contenders ready to bring some blockbuster pickleball.
