RUN IT BACK: TRUONG AND HARVEY REMATCH HEADLINES SEMIFINALS IN VIETNAM

The semifinals are set at the MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026, and the Men’s Singles has delivered the rematch Vietnam wanted.
Hien Truong and Adam Harvey will meet again, two weeks after their Singapore semifinal produced the great escape of the season, when Harvey clawed back from 9-1 down in the decider to snatch it 11-9. This time Truong gets him on home soil. The Vietnamese star has been ruthless through the draw, dropping no more than nine points in a game, and saw off Nasa Hatakeyama 11-9, 11-4 in the quarterfinal. Harvey booked the rematch by beating Mikar Larenzo Fisher 12-10, 11-3, after the British player had earlier upset #6 seed Grayson Goldin.
On the other side of the draw, Hong Kit Wong’s march toward a fourth straight Men’s Singles gold continues. The top seed dispatched Kenta Miyoshi 11-7, 11-3 and next faces Luc Pham, who upset #4 seed Mitchell Hargreaves 11-1, 12-10.
FOLLOW TOURNAMENT ACTION
The Women’s Singles surprise belongs to Trang Huynh. She came from a game down to stun #2 seed Albie Huang 10-12, 11-0, 11-1, conceding a single point across the final two games, then beat Ho Tam 9-11, 11-4, 11-8 in the quarterfinal. It marks the deepest Women’s Singles run of her PPA Tour Asia career, having never previously been past the Round of 16. Mihae Kwon awaits in the semifinals after wins over Yu-Chieh Hsieh and Natnicha Lueangtawikit. The other semifinal pits Nok Yiu Tang against Andie Dikosavljevic, who has yet to drop a game this week and ended the run of Singapore finalist Anni Xie along the way.

In Women’s Doubles, top seeds Yufei Long and Andie Dikosavljevic have conceded just eight points across four games and meet #4 seeds Albie Huang and Yu-chieh Hsieh for a place in the final. Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall and Nok Yiu Tang face Aiko Yoshitomi and Kei Sawaki in the other semifinal, a rematch of pairs who both cruised through their quarterfinals.
The Men’s Doubles semifinals are heavyweight affairs. Eunggwon Kim and Hong Kit Wong, still hunting a first gold together, take on the new duo of Hoang Nam Ly and Collin Johns. The other semifinal carries a twist. Hien Truong and Kenta Miyoshi won silver together in Singapore just two weeks ago. Now they stand on opposite sides of the net, Truong reunited with Quan Do, his two-time gold-winning partner, and Miyoshi lining up alongside Robert Stirling. Truong and Do survived an all-Vietnamese quarterfinal against Le Xuan Duc and Anh Pham from a game down, while Stirling and Miyoshi edged Adam Harvey and Wil Shaffer 12-10, 12-10.
In Mixed Doubles, Ngoc Si and Joseph Wild carry Vietnamese hopes into a semifinal against top seeds Nok Yiu Tang and Eunggwon Kim, having knocked out Singapore finalists Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall and Robert Stirling along the way. Lingwei Kong and Hong Kit Wong, who beat Albie Huang and Collin Johns in a three-game quarterfinal, meet Aiko Yoshitomi and Lucas Pascoe, who narrowly defeated Kaitlynn Hart and Harrison Brown in a tight decider of their own.
