SEEDS LAND IN THE LION CITY FOR LEAPMOTOR SINGAPORE OPEN
| July 13, 2026
The seeds and player lists are now out for the Leapmotor Singapore Open 2026. Here’s what to keep an eye on before the PPA Asia 500 stop lands in the Lion City in 10 days.
Wong chases three in a row
Hong Kit Wong is on a roll. The Hong Kong, China star won back-to-back Men’s Singles golds at the Capital Securities Beijing Open and the Sansan Tokyo Open and enters Singapore as the #2 seed. A third straight title would be something special. His path could go through top seed Hien Truong, a matchup Wong leads 4:1 and one he settled in the Beijing semifinal on the way to that title.
Hien takes top billing
Vietnam’s Hien Truong is the #1 singles seed for the second time on Tour. He turned his last top billing into a title at the Panas Kuala Lumpur Open, defeating Nasa Hatakeyama 11-2, 11-3 in the final. Add silver at the MB Hanoi Cup and Hien has been hitting highs in the biggest moments. He also lines up at #3 in Men’s Doubles with a new partner in Kenta Miyoshi. Having won gold in Hangzhou and Beijing with Quan Do, fans will be eager to see if the magic continues with Miyoshi.
Kim and Wong hunt the elusive gold
Eunggwon Kim and Hong Kit Wong return as top seeds in Men’s Doubles. They are one of the most dominant pairings, but still are without a gold. Silver at the Hong Kong Open 2025, followed by four bronzes across the circuit. Every time close, never quite there. Another shot is in front of them in Singapore. Will this finally be their moment?
Long chases the triple crown
Yufei Long is entered in all three events open to her and is carry the status to go all the way. The Chinese star holds #1 in Women’s Singles, #2 in Women’s Doubles with Kara Wheatley, and #2 in Mixed Doubles alongside first-time partner Lucas Pascoe. Tokyo and Macao champion Rika Fujiwara is absent, and the last four Women’s Singles champions on Tour are all missing from the draw. Opportunity knocks.
All change in Mixed Doubles
Nok Yiu Tang and Eunggwon Kim lead the Mixed Doubles as top seeds, the most established pair in the top eight. Behind them, three brand new partnerships are siting in the top four. Long and Pascoe at #2. Japanese star Aiko Yoshitomi joins Len Yang at #3, and Yang will want a better return than the two silvers he took home from Tokyo. Yoshitomi brings Mixed Doubles gold-medal pedigree of her own from the Hong Kong Open last year. Lingwei Kong and Asia debutant Adam Harvey round out the top four.
The Leapmotor Singapore Open will be staged from July 23-26 at The Sports Arena @ Expo (Hall 10). Limited tickets still remain, get yours now.
